Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Host a Party to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day

Disney's Animal Kingdom will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and the 25th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund with a party. Special entertainment and activities will be available throughout the park, April 18-22, ending with an all-day extravaganza on Earth Day (April 22).

The party will include speakers and entertainment, behind-the-scenes tours, specialty food and beverage, limited-edition merchandise signings, characters, photo opportunities and even some special Wilderness Explorers activities for kids.

During the week the Wild by Nature Speaker Series will include animal experts, educators and conservation “Heroes” at the park’s Theater in the Wild. National Geographic Explorers and Photographers will also share their stories about their front line explorations. New National Geographic merchandise will debut at Disney Parks that week as well.

Walt Disney Imagineer Joe Rohde, a influential and inspiring man who built Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will have his Tiffins Talks again this year where you can join in discussion with Joe and enjoy a meal. Registration for this dining experience will begin February 18.

You can also have a look at this year’s Disneynature films that will debut on Disney+ in April, Elephant and Dolphin Reef, including discussions with Roy Conli, the producer of the films.

Earth Day 2020 is also the 25th Anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund and to celebrate the milestone, the Disney Conservation Fund will showcase 25 global wildlife heroes. Many of these stories will be featured in a new special edition book, “Disney Conservation Legacy,” available for purchase in the park during the Earth Day celebration.

If you can't make it to the park on Earth Day, you can watch Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the live television event “BORN WILD: EARTH DAY LIVE,” on National Geographic and Nat Geo WILD on April 22, at 8/7c.
