Disney Requires All Employees to be Vaccinated Against COVID 19

The Walt Disney Company will require all salaried and non-union employees to be vaccinated against COVID 19 in the next 60 days. Walt Disney Co. is currently speaking with the unions to also come to an agreement for vaccinations for union employees.

Disney also said that all new hires will be required to be fully vaccinated before starting work at the company.

Walt Disney Company is one of the largest employers in the world and owns ABC networks, theme parks, and movie studios.

“Vaccines are the best tool we all have to help control this global pandemic and protect our employees,” the statement said.

“At The Walt Disney Company, the safety and well-being of our employees during the pandemic has been and continues to be a top priority," the company said Friday. "Toward that end, and based on the latest recommendations of scientists, health officials and our own medical professionals that the COVID-19 vaccine provides the best protection against severe infection, we are requiring that all salaried and non-union hourly employees in the U.S. working at any of our sites be fully vaccinated."

The announcement comes after the Centers for Disease Control changed their face coverings guidelines and the recent reports on the delta variant's ability to spread.
