Today is Walt Disney's birthday and to celebrate the imagineer that provided us with the happiest place on Earth we take a look at some of the spots that remind us of Walt Disney at Disneyland Park.
Walt loved the railroad and his love can be seen as you ride aboard the Disneyland Railroad. Walt was often photographed at the controls of a steam engine and there’s even a framed photograph of Walt and his wife, Lillian, forever circling the park in their custom passenger car named Lilly Belle.
Walt love to take his early morning strolls through Disneyland park. Who wouldn't love that?
Walt had an apartment built for himself on top of the Main Street Fire Station and everyone knew he was around when the lamp was on in his apartment window. Since his death, Disneyland has kept that lamp lit and to celebrate the holidays the iconic lamp has been replaced by a Christmas tree.
Walt said: “I think what I want Disneyland to be most of all is a happy place–a place where adults and children can experience together some of the wonders of life, of adventure, and feel better because of it.” Well, Walt Disney, you have brought together millions of people to experience the wonders and adventure you wanted to bring through your parks and movies. Happy Birthday!
