Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Adds New Fireworks Show and Enhanced Attractions & Parade

Updated: Jul 23, 2019

Fall, my favorite time of the year at Walt Disney World, will be here before you know it! A lot of changes are coming to this year's Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, that happens on select nights from August 16 to November 1, including the debut of the incredible new “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.”

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Adds New Fireworks & Stage Show and Enhanced Attractions

New Fireworks Show

For the first time in 14 years, Disney will be updating their Halloween fireworks spectacular for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park!  The new show will feature state-of-the-art projection effects, lasers, lighting and dazzling fireworks that come together to tell a story about how anything can happen on Halloween night.

Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” serves as the host of this all-new nighttime extravaganza! Jack has come to tell a not-so-scary story about how anything can happen on Halloween night. Jack’s ghost dog, Zero, then flies off carrying everyone along on a trick-or-treating adventure, where our four main friends – Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy – find themselves drawn into a mysterious haunted house. Their journey takes them from one room of the house to another, encountering dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and a whole series of troublemaking Disney villains.

Enhanced Attractions

Several attractions across the park will receive special enhancements for the Halloween party! New this year, when you follow the treat trail into the Monster World at Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, they’ll interact in all-new ways with the comic cast of monsters, as they learn about the curious Human World holiday we call Halloween.

Similar to last year, the Pirates of the Caribbean will have a crew of live pirates on your journey as you search for treasure. Space Mountain goes completely dark again this year and special lighting and music will enhance the Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland.

New Additions & Enhancements Coming to 'Mickey's Boo To You' Parade

The Halloween parade is presented twice nightly during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The parade brings fun floats as each land of the Magic Kingdom comes together to celebrate Halloween. The parade opens with a some of your favorite Disney friends, including Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in all-new Halloween costumes, as they trick-or-treat down Main Street, U.S.A. Representing Liberty Square, the Haunted Mansion unit features Hitchhiking Ghosts and new for this year, the spectral Bride, will make her debut among the waltzing spirits.

A new Tomorrowland unit will include The Incredibles and designer Edna Mode, followed by Buzz Lightyear and Alien explorers discovering treasures on the surface of a planetary float.

Returning Favorites

Don't worry your Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party favorites are still returning including the popular live show “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular,” featuring the Sanderson Sisters and Disney villains such as Oogie Boogie, Dr. Facilier and Maleficent. Also returning is the ride of the Headless Horseman, “Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade,” Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball and “Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam,” where this year Nancy Clancy from the hit Disney Junior series “Fancy Nancy” joins other Disney Junior pals.

Cruella's Halloween Hide-a-Way

At this year's Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a favorite Disney Villain will be hosting her own fabulous event. You can book the all-new Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-Way at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, to enjoy a festive atmosphere, with themed background music and décor, and even mingle with Cruella herself!

The party begins at 9:30 p.m., at Tony's Square and you can pop in and out at your leisure to indulge in savory hors d’oeuvres including the Witches Cauldron—a kettle of creamy spinach dip with ciabatta crostini, assorted Halloween flatbreads and more! But don't forget dessert! There will be sweet treats such as chocolate-dipped strawberries, cheesecake and mini cannoli, Kanine Krunchy cake and Mini De Vil brownies! A variety of beverages will be available including beer and wine selections.
