Right now Florida feels like walking on the sun! The summer heat is brutal in Florida so let's discover some ways we can beat the heat!
Frozen Treats
This is my favorite way to beat the heat! Along with the classic ice cream Disney offers a lot of unique sweet frozen treats. My favorite, Pineapple Dole Whips or Pineapple Floats from Magic Kingdom Park or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are super refreshing on a hot day. If you’re at Epcot, you can’t go wrong with gelato in the Italy Pavilion or indulge in some unique ice cream flavors at L'Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion.
Spend the Afternoon at a Disney Water Park
Walt Disney World Resort has two uniquely themed water parks, Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. Both water parks offer slides, wave pools and shaded lounging areas making for a refreshing and cooler afternoon.
Enjoy the Cooler Attractions
Unfortunately, a lot of the attraction queues are located outdoor in the heat but there are some attractions that actually have air conditioning. Mickey’s Philharmagic at Magic Kingdom Park offers a nice break as you watch the 4D musical show you can keep cool and get in a quick rest from the heat.
As always, the water rides are a great option to cool down. Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom Park and Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park both have exhilarating water rides with drops that end with a splash.
Wear Sunscreen and Keep Hydrated
Even if it is cloudy always make sure you wear sunscreen and continue to reapply throughout the day. Also, make sure you and your family drinks plenty of water. You can get cups of ice water at all Quick Service dining locations for free. Dehydration can sneak up on you quickly so make sure you stay hydrated!
