Universal Studios Florida has released a statement declaring that they will officially welcome guests back beginning June 5!
In accordance with CDC guidelines, Universal Studios Florida has enhanced sanitation procedures and additional operating procedures that have been implemented for distance spacing and screening.
“We want to invite guests back to our theme parks in a cautious and thoughtful way,” said Tom Williams, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Universal Parks & Resorts. “We have put new health and safety procedures in place for both our team members and guests. And we have worked hard to make sure our guests can enjoy their time with family and friends. Doing this the right way will take all of us — and we need everyone’s help. Guests should follow our guidelines and continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC and health officials.”
The following new regulations will be in place and all guests and Team Members must comply:
Everyone is required to wear a face covering during their visit
Temperature checks will be required upon arrival, and guests with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be admitted.
Wash your hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds.
Practice social distancing
When present, please stand on the floor markings until the group in front of you move forwards
Avoid contact with people who are sick
Use hand sanitizer when required. At select locations including prior to boarding ride vehicles, guests will be required to use hand sanitizer.
Always follow Team Member direction and have patience as they work through the new operational procedures.
Staggered parking within the parking garage to help create distance between travel groups
Having Virtual Line available for select attractions
Offering cashless payments and “no touch” policies where possible
Universal Studios Florida will be limiting capacity and following social distancing guidelines throughout all attractions, restaurants and shops throughout the destination and increasing cleaning and disinfection procedures. All team members will undergo temperature checks and wear face coverings and will participate in extensive training on our new procedures.

Universal provides a disclaimer:
This carefully managed reopening comes with stringent new health, safety and hygiene procedures in place. So, as we enjoy our parks together again, everyone will need to follow CDC guidelines and the recommendations of health officials, and Universal Orlando’s policies. Note that any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit.
Please note the CDC advises that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Guests should evaluate their risk in determining whether to attend. People who show no symptoms can spread COVID-19 if they are infected, any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19, and we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed during your visit.
