Walt Disney World Extends Closure - Resort, Dining, & Other Experiences - UPDATED 3/27

Walt Disney World Closure - Resort & Dining Information

Updated March 27, 2020: Disney has just released a statement extending the closure of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida & Disneyland Resort in California until further notice due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Disney is following the direction provided by health experts and government officials and will continue to pay their cast members through April 18.

Resorts:

All Disney owned and operated hotels at Walt Disney World Resort are temporarily closed until further notice. Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Disney's Hilton head Island resort are also temporarily closed until further notice.


All Disney transportation is temporarily unavailable until further notice.


All Disney imposed change and cancellation fees will be waived up to the date of check-in through June 30, 2020. If no action is taken before your check-in date for arrivals during the closure period, Disney will automatically cancel reservations within 7 days of the original check in date and process any refund due to the original form of payment.

Dining:

All pre-paid dining and experience reservations between March 16 through the closure period will be automatically refunded. Cancellation or no-show fees will not be charged for dining reservations made at locations impacted by the closure.


All active Tables in Wonderland members will be extended by the number of days the parks are closed.


Other Experiences:

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and miniature golf locations at Walt Disney World Resort are closed from until further notice.


Disney Springs:

All locations at Disney Springs are temporarily closed until further notice.

 

Updated March 17, 2020: Tables in Wonderland information and Other Experiences added based on new information provided by Disney.


With the temporary closure of Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks, there are a lot of questions about resort and dining reservation and we have just been updated on the status.


 

Resorts:

Disney owned and operated hotels at Walt Disney World Resort and Disney's Vero Beach Resort will close beginning at 5 PM on Friday, March 20 through the end of the month. Disney's Magical Express will continue transfers to and from Orlando International Airport through Friday, March 20.


All Disney transportation will be suspended beginning the morning of Wednesday, March 18 through the end of the month.


Character dining at Disney Resorts will have modified experiences from March 16 though March 20.


The following locations have cancelled through the end of the month and guests will automatically receive a refund with reservations during March 16-March 31:

  • Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show

  • Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue


The Electrical Water Pageant is temporarily cancelled.


The following Disney Resort offerings have temporarily suspended services:

  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

  • All Spas & Salons

  • Character Couture services at Salons

Guests can call (407) 939-5277 to reschedule resort reservations with arrivals between March 20 through March 31, 2020. On Friday March 20 at 5 PM Disney will automatically cancel reservations of Walt Disney Travel Company Disney Resort hotel packages and room-only reservations booked directly with Disney for arrivals March 20-31. The refund will be processed to the original form of payment.

  • Celebration at the Top - Savor, Sip & Sparkle

  • Day Cruise Around the World

  • Disney Vacation Club Seven Seas Tasting Cruise

  • Grand 1 Yacht Rentals

Golf and FootGolf operations remain available.


FastPass+

All FastPass+ reservations during this time period will be automatically cancelled.

Disney Springs & Disney Stores

Disney will be closing all of its owned and operated locations at Downtown Disney in California and Disney Springs in Orlando beginning March 17. Individual tenants at both entertainment districts will make their own decisions on whether to adjust operations.


All of the Disney stores in North America will be closed beginning March 17 but you can still shop online at shopDisney.com.
