Walt Disney World To Begin Cashless Test Program For Resorts Next Month at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Beginning February 12 2018, the Walt Disney World Resort will launch a limited-time pilot program that will experiment with a cashless payment system. The test program will take place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and all purchases and services will have to paid for by electronic methods.

During the test period, the only forms of acceptable payment will be:

  • MagicBands

  • Credit & Debit cards

  • Disney Gift Cards

  • Disney Credit Rewards Redemption Cards

  • Apple/Samsung/Google Pay

Cash will still be used for gratuities to Cast Members and you can add it to your room for any charges. Depending on how this pilot program experience goes for Walt Disney World Resort, more resort hotels may start going to a cashless system soon.
